Questions
Which Excel files can it open?
Workbooks saved as .xlsx, which Excel has used since 2007. Older .xls files can't be opened here; open them in a spreadsheet app and save them as .xlsx first.
What happens to dates and formulas?
Dates are written as ISO dates, like 2026-10-31, with the time when there is one. A formula gives the value it last showed in the spreadsheet app; the formula itself is not kept.
Are numbers kept as numbers?
In JSON, numbers, true and false stay JSON values. Going to Excel, a value becomes a number, a date or TRUE/FALSE only if it would come back exactly as written, so codes like 007 stay text.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded?
No. It is converted inside your browser, and never leaves your device.
