No. Converting happens inside your browser, and your video never leaves your device.
Will my video lose quality?
Not when its picture or sound is already in the format you chose. Those are copied as they are. Anything else is re-encoded at about the original's quality.
Which format should I choose?
MP4 plays almost everywhere, including phones, TVs and editing apps. WebM is made for websites.
Why can't my browser convert some iPhone videos?
Many iPhone videos use HEVC, which some browsers cannot read. Safari can, and so can Chrome and Edge on many recent computers.
Why does the first video take longer?
The first time, your browser downloads the video engine. After that it is kept, so the next video starts at once.
