Questions

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Your photo is cropped inside your browser, and it never leaves your device.

Which documents can I make photos for?

UK passports for now. Each size is checked against the government's own rules before it is added, and more countries will follow.

What do the guide lines show?

The top line is where the crown of your head goes. Your chin should sit between the two lower lines, so your head is the size the rules ask for.

How do I print the photos?

Choose the print sheet and print it on 4 × 6 in (10 × 15 cm) photo paper at actual size, with no scaling. Then cut the photos apart.

Will my photo be accepted?

The size is exact, but the authority also checks things like lighting, your expression and the background. Read the official rules linked under the document before you apply.
