Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The text is read inside your browser, and your files never leave your device.
Why does a page say it has no text?
That page is probably a scan, a picture of the text rather than the text itself. Image to Text can read the words in a scan.
How can I tell where each page starts?
Each page's text starts with a line such as "--- Page 2 ---".
Does it keep the layout?
No. You get the words in reading order, line by line. Tables, columns and fonts are not kept.
